Which one do I need?
NVMe goes inside
Choose it to upgrade a computer or console. Open the case, push the drive into the M.2 slot and fix it with one screw. A PS5 needs a heatsink on top.
Portable plugs in from outside
Choose it to carry files, back up a phone or record video from a camera. Nothing to install: plug in the cable and the drive appears.
DRAM or HMB?
Every SSD keeps a map of where your files sit. A drive with DRAM holds that map on its own memory chip. An HMB drive borrows a small slice of your computer’s RAM instead.
For everyday use and games the difference is small. For long, heavy writes, drives with DRAM usually hold their speed better. The Drive Facts panel on every ISAN box says which kind you are buying.
